Strategic Centres for Science, Technology and Innovation
Strategic Centres for Science, Technology and Innovation (SCSTI) are the new operating model for the Finnish innovation system. The status of SCSTI is granted by the Science and Technology Policy Council of Finland for consortiums who have set themselves challenging research targets and whose core expertise is located in Finland.
With the aid of SCSTIs, companies will adopt greater responsibility for steering and conducting long-term, high-risk research and the networking and enterprise-orientation of research institutes will be developed.

- Information and communication industry and services TIVIT Ltd
- FIMECC Finnish Metals and Engineering Competence Cluster Ltd
- Energy and the environment CLEEN Ltd
- Built environment innovations RYM Ltd
- Health and well-being SalWe Ltd.
The Federation of Finnish Technology Industries assessed from the company perspective the centres' operations in key sectoral clusters. The evaluation 'The Strategic Centres for Science, Technology and Innovation (SHOKs) CLEEN, FIMECC, Forestcluster and TIVIT from the Company Perspective' was published 19 October 2011.
