Internationalization
The ManufacturingFinland network uses its national and international cooperation partners to promote internationalization. Especially the services of Finpro’s global network are utilized as efficiently as possible. Also various chambers of commerce and consultants offer their services to the use of the network. The cooperation agreement between The Federation of Finnish Technology Industries and Finpro offers good opportunities to conduct shared surveys and projects.
One of the agreed projects is Finpro’s survey on opportunities for purchasing and local manufacturing in Middle and Eastern Europe. The survey updates the results of the previous research carried out in 2008. Another one, a whole new project is the export concept development of the industries’ service businesses, with which Finpro expands also its own proficiency as a contributor to exporting services. The project lasts till June 2012.
The network can arrange targeted Fact-Finding trips and company excursions to activate cooperation. For example, an export promotion trip for machine tool manufacturers to the car industry of St. Petersburg and/or Kaluga took place in June 2011. The trip was executed in cooperation with Finpro, and other industry sectors could also join the trip. The network follows the markets in Russia and examines opportunities in cooperation with Finnish clients.
