Finnish National Committee of Eurotrans
Purpose
The Group monitors trends in the field at the international level and acts as a cooperation forum for its members, which are companies with operations mainly related to the manufacture of gears and mechanical power transmission parts. The Group has 13 members, including all the major Finnish manufacturers in the field. Most of these companies produce almost exclusively for the export market.
Activities
Excursions to various plants; the exchange of experiences and statistics with in the group, membership of the European Committee of Associations of Manufacturers of Gears and Transmission Parts (EUROTRANS). The Economic Committee of EUROTRANS, among other things, compiles statistics and the Technical Committee monitors international standardisation in the field. An ongoing project is the compilation of a multi-language glossary (including Finnish) of EUROTRANS terminology.
