Energy and Climate Change Issues
Industry accounts for about half of Finland’s energy consumption. Energy-intensive sectors include the metals industry, the forestry industrie. Some 80-90 per cent of the production output of these industries is exported. About 40 % of Finland’s energy consumption is tied up in exports. Finland produces steel for 30 million people and paper and wood products for 100 million people.
